Oppex
Design lead and search-engine UI for public procurement startup.
Description
Public procurement means the procurement of goods and services on behalf of a public authority, such as a government agency. Oppex is the largest source of public procurement data in Europe. The service processes and translates weekly public tenders from over 1.000 local, national and international procurement portals.
The Starting Point
In September 2015, we started the redesign of oppex.com with a multi-talented team of marketers, engineers and designers. Oppex is the World’s largest search engine for public tenders covering over 1.5 million notices annually.
The site was already live, but it needed redesign – the visual language was cluttered, the mobile optimisation needed improvement and users kept asking for functionalities that were already implemented in the UI, they just couldn’t find them.
The Solution
Delivering the new user experience both demanded organizational and digital design. Adding cooperation and connecting the teams was key to the successful redesign. I wrote a more detailed blog post about the process.
